Thomas J. Nichols

My police career spanned the rise of Mexican drug cartels and the war on drugs. Now, I share those stories through my police dramas, espionage, and international intrigue novels.

Thomas J Nichols

I began telling bedtime stories in the 1970s when my daughter Jennifer was born, and continued creating tales for my son James, especially around Christmas. While raising them, I was also writing policies and working on projects for the Tucson Police Department. As the kids grew up, my storytelling ended, and I focused on my professional writing, which continued until I retired as Chief of Police in Lubbock.

After retiring, I returned to writing. My first book, Color of the Prism, became a movie, followed by The Third Dawn and the Christie Cole Trilogy, which gained attention for its real-world themes. I’m now working on my Border War series, exploring drug and human trafficking.

Color of the Prism

The Color of the Prism is one of those rare fictional books that is based on actual life experiences. Thomas Nichols takes the reader undercover to upend a drug operation that is lurid and dangerous, and proves he’s very good at what he does. Plan on staying up all night with this one.

We Were Young Once

I really enjoyed reading this book as I am a native of Tucson Arizona. It was interesting to find out things about Arizona, New Mexico, and Mexico while reading this novel. I am impressed with Tom’s writing and the intrigue involved in the story. It was really a pleasure to read. Can’t wait for future stories.

The Russian

Nichols' books about life on and along the US/Mexican border brought so much to life...personal family relationships, grueling hours, and natural and manmade dangers. He painted all of it so vividly it was almost like I was there.

The Third Dawn: From Bethlehem to Golgotha

This story is one that enveloped me in complete amazement. Author Thomas J. Nichols takes readers on a fictional tale regarding the story of Jesus. Incorporating a mix of historical facts and creative fiction, Nichols lays out this story about Jesus from his birth to his death.

We Were Young Once

With his candid a For story telling, Nichols grabs readers attention IMMEDIATELY. If you have knowledge of the Arizona area down to Mexico then you’ll understand this read Not wanting to give anything away, I will say that anutho experience as a police officer, the specifics in between pages are only that of a seasoned detective/crime fighter.

Arrows of Allah

My first enjoyable read/listen from author Thomas J. Nichols. Narrator Jack Nolan’s smooth & talented narration added to the book’s enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Not knowing this was the second book in a trilogy I had to go out & get the first book, Voices in the Fog, so I’ll be reading more from this author.
